Who we are
We are in the business of making peoples lives better through the process of creating living environments that fit, nurture, and inspire their inhabitants, and the communities they are part of.
We have been designing and building living spaces since 2001. Since then, we have successfully completed over $70 million in construction projects. Although our focus has been on single family custom homes, we have also completed commercial spaces, restaurants, and larger scale residential urban in-fill developments.
We spent the first 8+ years in business building custom homes in rural counties between Houston and Austin. As is evident from our portfolio of projects from that early part of our business, we were emersed in creating spaces inspired by traditional rural texas architecture. As we moved our business into the Austin environs, we naturaly picked up experience in other more contemporary and modern vernaculars. We love it all. We seek to create distinction, rather than a specific style. Our design/build philosophy is not to impose our design ideas on our clients, but rather, have the designs be a reflection of who they are and who they want to be.
Sustainability
We are interested in sustainability in a broad sense - environmental, social, and economic. In all areas of our business we aim to leave it as good or better than how we found it. For us, that means, not only making efforts to live in accord with our natural environment, but also ensuring that all of the people that we engage with in the process - clients, designers, employees, subcontractors, vendors, etc - are left better off by having done business with us. It means, not only being thoughtful and responsible with our client's financial investments, but also ensuring every worker is making a sustainable, living wage. It means, not only concerning ourselves with how our projects work with-in the property they are built on, but also how they impact the surrounding neighborhood and community.

We have been a participating builder in the Austin Energy Green Building Program since we started building in Austin 2006. We have completed over 50 home projects with their highest 5-star rating, and numerous other 4-star rated projects. Although we do not rate every project with AEGB, we have adopted most all of their 4/5-star criteria as standard practice. Building to these standards is not an option if you work with us. It's just how we work.

Truehome
Truehome is an approach to designing living spaces that was created by Shiloh Travis's father - Christopher K. Travis . More info about the Truehome Workshop and philosophy/science behind it can be found here. We mention it here, because the ideas behind Truehome have been formative in developing how we approach creating built environments and serving people through the process:
"When people choose to change their living space, what they really want is a new and better life. “Home” isn’t a building. It’s an experience, really a whole suite of experiences. That means your perfect home is in your head and heart, not in the bricks and sticks of your project. It’s a psychological fingerprint embedded in your brain; one that is unique for each of us"
